The Need for a Website

Websites add personality, finesse, dignity and a touch of expertise to a company’s profile.

Do you have a website? If you own a business today and you don’t possess a website, you are breaking the unwritten rule or you know nothing about the order of the day when it comes to utilizing all resources to maximize your business potential. Tell me that you own or manage a company and you are not interested in website and I’ll tell you that you are loosing money right now.

Don’t be a “wishy washy” business owner who sits around, gets comfortable and never adopts to change. You should not only build a website with great quality content or multimedia, but one that conducts and executes some parts of your business online.

You don’t have to be a large company to have your own website. Hell, you don’t even have to own a small business to have a website. One of the most inspirational and motivating true stories I’ve heard is about a college student who made over a million dollars ($1,000,000.00) in six months from a single web page. His name is Alex Stew and his website is milliondollarhomepage.com. You can check out his story for yourself.

For the individual who does not own one, let me shed some light on the need for a website and its potential advantages.

Here are some advantages that should ignite your thoughts and drive you to act:
· Global Access – A website can be accessed by anyone, anywhere at anytime, as long as they have internet access. Many individuals do not take advantage of this because they take this powerful form of leverage for granted.
· It’s cheap to advertise – In comparison to other forms of advertisement, a website can be much cheaper and there is a greater potential to reach more people with little effort or cash.
· It allows you to exchange information – People can quickly gather information about you or your company and you can also gather information about people who visit your website. Use information right and you can become powerful indeed.
· Business can be conducted when it is convenient to your customers – Set up an e-business and you can earn while you sleep. Sounds easy? Well it is, trust me on that one.
· It minimizes the response time from customer contact to the sale – A customer may find your website through a search engine like google.com and by the time you say http://www.designsnprint.com they are ready to place there order.
These are just a few advantages of owning a website, but by now you should get the picture that you should not turn a blind eye on its value. Harness the knack of customers searching for your product or service online and you will reap the harvest of great rewards.

To give you all the information on building an effective website would take much more time and space than I’m allotted here, but let me give you some powerful pointers. These are the decisive factors in designing and maintaining an effective website.

Content is king or queen – you must write quality content for optimization and also for your website visitor to feast on.
The right use of graphics and multimedia can enhance your website and bring abounding interest.
Easy navigation – just a like a clear road map, it should be clear and concise.
You must continually update the website
Develop a linking strategy – The whole internet is developed around the concept of networking. The more related links you have to your website, the more valuable your website will be.

So there you have it. When you own or operate a website, you are making a positive statement regarding your attitude towards a new revolutionary technology. When you do decide to get it, just remember that just like the quality of your business cards or your brochures, you will be judged by quality or standard of the website.
